Our collection of antique natural history prints showcase etchings and engravings dating back hundreds of years with guaranteed authenticity. With over 1,000 prints in stock, you will find etchings including botanicals (plants), ornithology (birds), ichthyology (fish), mammals, reptiles, trees and leaves, maps and more.
All of the antique prints that we carry originate from authentic folios created 150 – 300 years ago. Folios at that time are what magazines are today. At that point in time, artists would be commissioned and sponsored to travel to North America from Europe to study and record animals, plants, birds, maps and all elements of natural history. They would then return to draw what they had seen, making them into copper plate etchings and engravings. These renderings would then be turned into folios that people would subscribe to and read about. The prints we carry are all from these original folios.
We carry up to 25 different artists and points of interest. Unframed antique prints along with a selection of custom framed pieces are available at our Minneapolis / Edina and Minnetonka locations.
**We are excited to announce the addition of new artists to our stores in June with new antique prints from Cornelius Nozeman, Johann Weinmann, Francois Andre Michaux, François-Nicolas Martinet and a large collection of antique maps of Lake Minnetonka.**
